Baby Crib Bedding Provides Added Comfort

This caused most families to start saving bits and pieces of scrap material. It was not uncommon to see bins of random materials scattered in small piles of the early colonial homes as they hoped to gather enough to eventually construct a quilt.

Aside from serving its purpose as a blanket, a quilt can be a perfect gift for a new bride or a new mother. Many cultures today provide hand crafted quilt's as gifts to new brides on their wedding day as a rite of passage. Many quits are displayed on racks or walls and used as art. They can provide a sense of comfort to just about any space.

That being said, nursery bedding in the form of crib sets usually comes in a package with the following four items: baby quilt or blanket, fitted sheet for the crib, skirt and bumper. Bumper? Yes, bumper. Hold on, we'll come back to that later.

Next up is the crib sheet. These are usually fitted. If it is not fitted, don't bother. Your child may sleep like an angel, or they may move around a lot. Either way, a fitted sheet will keep itself in place instead of getting wrapped up around your child, which is about as bad as it sounds.

I scanned the photos and then printed them onto photo transfer sheets. I ironed the transfer on to a piece of white material that was just a little bit larger than the picture. The white square and photo was sewn on top of one of the 12" blue squares. I then added eyelet trim and blue ribbon around each photo. Putting dark blue ribbon on a light blue square, and light blue ribbon on a dark blue square.
