Those who have a knack for it can quilt, crochet, or knit a blanket, which looks like a masterpiece. They can use their creativity in the fabrics, color combinations, and appliques that they choose. These can make sentimental and lasting gifts that can be handed down to future generations.
For each block you want to make also cut a five-sided piece of solid fabric. Make the sides angular, not parallel. Never use the normal wash and spin cycle on your washing machine. Use the gentle wash and spin cycle and let the machine spin only long enough so the quilt is not dripping wet. Remove your quilt from the washer and roll it up in an old blanket or two or three large towels laid side-by-side.
