Always use a rotary cutter with a cutting mat specifically designed for it. In addition to protecting your work surface, the mat helps keep the fabric from shifting while you cut. Start with a 17x23" mat marked with a 1" grid, hash marks at 1/8" increments, and 45 and 60 degree angles.

For a beautiful centerpiece, scoop the center out of a head of cabbage to make a bowl. Set it in the center of a colorful tray and place carrot sticks, celery, green peppers, broccoli and cauliflower around it. Fill the "cabbage bowl" with spinach dip. This adds color and a touch of class to your picnic.

You may also offer your child some quilts that have the image of their most loved movie character. Boys can choose from Spongebob Squarepants to Superman or from Cookie Monster to the Transformers.
A very important thing to notice when you are out buying nursery bedding are the different items that you get in a set. Usually a Quilt, blanket a bumper and a crib sheet are a part of the set. It is a good to have a fine cupboard where you can store the different sets and their components. You do not want to mix them or lose them at all.
Place a few straight pins at random places on the surface of the quilt. (Anywhere but on the lines.) This will keep the pieces from shifting during sewing.
