Try To End Things In A Way That Discourages Drama: You probably know the personality of the other person well enough to know what is going to get under their skin. If they need for you to wish them well in order for them to let you go without the drama, there's nothing wrong with that. But don't give them any hope that you will change your mind. Try to conduct yourself in a way that shows them compassion, but that also leaves little doubt that it's completely over.

Another example: you are on a business trip, bump into an old boyfriend and decide to have dinner together. You have a great visit, but at the end of the meal he invites you to spend the night with him in his hotel room. He appears disappointed when you say no, so you remind him that you are in a committed relationship and then you add that you have an early-morning meeting you have to prepare for. As you debate the importance of the meeting with him and what it means to be in a committed relationship, you wonder why he is so persistent after you already said no. Hint: it's not about the hormones.

The wife said that the relationship had already begun to cool a bit on its own. So it was possible that the other man wouldn't be all that upset about it ending or require a long, drawn out explanation. It's my opinion that it's probably to every one's benefit to tell the other person that the relationship should end because it isn't the right course of action for either of you. It was simply a mistake that can be corrected by ending it now. No one can really argue with that logic and it doesn't get too personal or specific. You've given them the courtesy of an explanation which doesn't invite a long debate. Sure, they may ask you if you're ending it has anything to do with your spouse or your marriage, but since your relationship is over, this isn't their business or concern.

You are not going to get a perfect application. You are going to get an application with one or two blemishes. It may be after digging a little deeper and asking some questions that you can get around that blemish and accept the applicant and they can be very good. Simply because they have an issues doesn't necessarily mean they're bad. Do some additional research, ask additional questions, and get explanations as to what's going on, and then make your final decision.

The two, the Kingdom and the church, are different realities. So this parable does not refer to the church, its beginnings and spread, but to the Kingdom of God.
