One of the horrible mistakes I see people make is using their car cover on a dirty car. If your vehicle is just a little dusty, you'll get fine swirl marks in your paint. If your vehicle is really dirty it may start to look like someone scrubbed it with steel wool.

Seat Car cover Finally we get to petroleum. These soils come from substances that do not contain or cannot be mixed with water. Motor oil, grease and road tar are the most common petroleum soils. Note that chewing gum is also a petroleum soil.

Minor details. Other accessories that offer protection for your vehicle include: floor mats and liners, seat covers, vent shades, hood protectors, and brake dust shields. If you carry pets regularly then a pet pad or pet box can protect your interior like nothing else.

Lets discuss the cost involved in some of these materials. Just remember you usually pay for what you get. There is an exception for this. Sheepskin is every bit as durable and protective as regular leather, but has a lower price. I would steer clear of the polyester and cotton blends because I hate having to replace them when they get worn out and this is definitely not a cheap way to go. Leather and sheepskin are both great, but for me the price of regular leather is just a little high. Some people are scared of sheepskin because they think they would be very hot in the summer, but nothing could be further from the truth. Lets look now at the cost of some of these materials.

Breathability. Cars need to breathe underneath their covers even when it rains outside. When you get a cover for your car that does not allow your car to breathe at all, moisture can easily form on it and slowly corrupt its paint job or even its steel parts. This is something that you would like to avoid which is why it is important to note whether or not the cover for your car that you decide to buy, however waterproof it is, allows your car to have ample space to breathe in.

In some cases you will need to make some trade-offs or be prepared to buy two. For example, if you want to use your cover both inside and out, a heavy-duty waterproof car cover will probably drive you crazy. In this case, choose a material that's light enough to use inside and can tolerate moderate weather conditions when used outside.

Ease of cleaning. Some auto covers are difficult to clean. When the time comes that you will have to change your car covers, you might have a difficult time ridding them of dust, food particles and more. When buying a new set of seat covers for your car, it is important for you to take this into consideration lest you want something that you cannot easily rid stains from.

Wash and wax. Okay, so you don't have a hose handy. If you go to the car wash, make sure that it is brushless, otherwise the circular marks on your finish will certainly do a number on your car's appearance in no time. As far as waxing your vehicle, polishes made by popular brands including Turtle Wax should do the trick. Yes, I know, a friend recommended a particular brand that can give your car a look that is better than new. Go ahead and use it...just follow the directions on the bottle precisely!
