Crib Bedding - Choosing Your Next Set
When I say luxury I mean everything from the sheets to the quilt on top of your bed. Bed sheets are categorized by the thread count in a square inch of linen material. As the thread count grows in number, it becomes softer. An average bedding set's sheet has around a 90 thread count. These are nice but a count of 300 is more luxurious. The higher the thread count, the more expensive the sheets become.
A quilt is different from a duvet, although the terms may be used interchangeably in Britain. A quilt consists of two pieces of fabric with batting in between them, all sewn together through a technique called quilting. Traditional quilters used calico, which is a type of muslin. A patchwork quilt consists of pieces of fabric sewn together randomly (called a crazy quilt) or in a pattern. Quilts are often very colorful.
With that said, it is also important that you choose children's Bedding sets that they will not outgrow every year. Children can be very indecisive and their favorite cartoons and characters can change with the seasons. To prevent them from wanting new bedding set every few months, opt for something that is basic. This may mean a solid colored comforter and sheets to match. Then you could decorate the walls with their current favorite television show or movie. That way, it will not cost so much to redecorate when they have a new favorite.
The designs should also have a lot of fluff, swirls, and curls. Think about nice things such as flowers, clouds, hearts, stars, bears, and so on. These are perfect for a little girl's crib. Try to avoid automotive and sports designs like cars, trains, airplanes, baseball, football, tennis, and basketball. These themes are for boys. And unless you want your baby daughter to be mistaken as a boy, try to avoid these designs.
The most used color for a boys set is blue although this may vary depending on the likes of the child himself. Make sure to ask him what is the main color he likes in his room and then just add a few more vibrant colors when decorating. Lively colors are a wonderful way to stimulate a child's imagination and lends a hand in their development. By choosing a good color, parents also have the chance to recycle previous sets. For example, the color blue would work just as well with a boy as with a girl.
A typical baby crib bedding set consists of a crib skirt, quilt, fitted sheet, and bumper. Modern bedding designed for kids is made of the best materials, is comfortable, and attractive. Of course, the color of the baby items for boys are different than the ones for girls. Most people tend to go by the book with colors, buying a blue set for boys and a pink set for girls. You can also decide to get bedding collections that have a neutral color, since they are acceptable for both boys and girls. Next, we will discuss bedding for boys, girls, and the neutral collections.
Set a Budget. Boy crib bedding sets and bedding sets in general can be quite expensive but you don't have to spend a fortune. It's important to know how much you can afford to spend before you actually go out and buy crib linens. You don't want to go shopping without a budget because you could potentially go broke.
When choosing the comforter set you will ultimately buy, think about the different pieces you want it to include. Do you want a dust ruffle (also known as a bed skirt) along with matching shams? Do you want to look for more extensive product lines that include coordinating sheets, window coverings and table coverings? There are many different sets that allow you to decorate your entire bedroom quickly and easily.
